HISTORY OF THE GUEST HOUSE
In 2003 Baboucarr Etu Ndow created a guesthouse in combination with art classes, workshops and exhibitions for locals and foreigners. Unfortunately Etu died in 2014 but Tunbung Art Village Guesthouse and gallery is still operating. The guesthouse is recently (2022) renovated.”
The huts and buildings are built by using recycled bricks from an old Portuguese colonial building in Banjul and by using traditional building materials with a special technology, compressed earth blocks. (CSEB). By using recycled materials and artistically design and decoration Etu created a unique style of buildings for the Tunbung Art Village Guesthouse
